Note from the Author (no spoiler)

The adventures of the K-Team finish with this fifth book.  This is the end of an incredible sequence of events that have completely disrupted the quiet life of a group of friends, albeit over an extremely short time, and more precisely from the evening of a certain 29th July to the following and endless 6th August.

One might wonder what year. Well, conceptually we are in 2015 (the year after that in which this saga was originally conceived); however, in this last story we also make a short digression that will project us five years ahead, to 2020. It’s time to draw conclusions and tie up the matters still unresolved in previous episodes. Those who have followed the story so far can easily imagine what I’m talking about. Nevertheless, at the time of writing these lines, the evolution of this last book had not yet been clear but we trust that the muses of creativity continue in their support. If we are here now it is precisely to discover this together.

I leave you to the conclusion of this long saga: I will miss Mark, Viktor, Kaspar, Klarissa, Klaudia, Atsuko, Koichi, Konrad Lang.  Especially in the early days it was as if they were real characters and not just a figment of my imagination. And today, why not, I like to think that maybe, in an alternative world, these people really exist.  After all, this series of stories should have taught us something.

In some way, even physics hypotheses the possibility of different alternative realities, with our actual existence perhaps confined in one of these possible spatial-temporal membranes. And if so, then why not assume that our characters actually exist in one of these alternate dimensions, alongside ours? A dimension in which our heroes are not fictional characters but real people struggling with normal everyday problems, just like the rest of us. Problems that, in their case, were suddenly overwhelmed by a sudden and disruptive series of absurd and completely extraordinary situations.

It’s the power of fantasy, of beauty. So let’s enjoy the fantasy.  I give you the latest instalment of the K-Team saga!

Enjoy yourselves.
